mParticle has announced the beta release of a feature to forward data erase requests to integrated systems including Amplitude, Blueshift, Braze, and Kochava. Such requests must be honored under many privacy regulations including the European Union’s GDPR, California’s CCPA/CPRA, and Brazil’s LGPD. It’s one more example of how CDPs are overlapping with privacy management systems.

“Composability” is the latest buzzword for breaking up integrated systems into separate functions. This puts CDP vendors into competition of generic data management tools such as data integration systems. So it’s relevant to know that Hevo, a no-code data pipeline, just raised a $30 million Series B, bringing its total to $43 million. Also, that CData, a real-time connectivity platform, announced its own Series B, a $140 million round that raises its funding to $160 million.

Connecting social media measurement with traditional media measurement is yet another trend worth watching. Comscore is on it: they just bought Shareablee, which uses a proprietary taxonomy to classify videos, images, and articles across major social media platforms. Comscore will integrate Shareablee’s social audience insights with its existing media measurement tools.

It’s acquisitions all the way down today, Dear Reader. GumGum, which applies computer vision and natural language processing to analyze online content for contextual ad targeting, has purchased Australia-based Playground xyz, which uses eye-tracking technology to measure how much time people spend looking at ads. I guess there are still humans involved somewhere.

Spotify just bought Whooshkaa, another Australian firm. They have a platform that converts audio content like radio broadcasts into on-demand podcasts, handling everything from hosting to promotion to monetization to measurement. It’s part of Spotify’s on-going push into the podcast industry.

I was hoping for an all-Australia edition, or at least all-obscure-company-names. But IDG Communications blew it by buying LeadSift, which is Canadian and does what its name suggests: they scan the Web to identify relevant leads for their clients. It’s IDG’s third acquisition in eighteen months as they expand their ability to deliver B2B marketing and sales data.

The Use Case Generator is built with Google Forms, which I guess qualifies as a no-code system. This Forrester report says we’re not alone: 60% of organizations are using low-code and they’re twice as likely to grow as non-users. One big surprise: 49% are using low-code to build core software such as ERP and CRM.

Sales enablement vendor Mediafly is buying deal intelligence collector InsightSquared. The pair expect InsightSquared data to help optimize Mediafly content and recommendations. Sounds like fun.

In the past decade, Mercado Pago has been rolled out across the region in eight key countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. According to a July 2019 study from mobile data company Ogury, Mercado Pago was present on 16.5% of Android and iOS mobile devices, a significantly greater share compared with PayPal (0.7%) and Todo Pago (0.5%).

Founded in June, the Brazil-based company provides what it calls “back-office-as-a-service,” which includes bookkeeping, CFO services, legal and HR services so entrepreneurs can focus on their core business. The company counts 134 companies as customers and looks to hire 100 people across engineering, technical, accounting, legal, human resources, marketing and customer service.

Uruguay’s strong initial response to the pandemic kept infection rates low and its audiovisual sector was the first in the region to return to work in 2020.
