Chilean Webdox expands to automate contracts in Brazil

Webdox automates contracts to facilitate the management of lawyers from different companies. It will launch in Brazil as it is home to several multinational clients. Since last October, the Chilean company Webdox already announced that it would continue its expansion in Latin America after raising US$7.3 million in a Series A. At that time it did not mention the first destination of its expansion, but today we know that it will be Brazil.

ACCC is lining up alongside Twiggy Forrest and taking Meta to court for publishing scam celebrity cryptocurrency advertising on its platform. The regulatory watchdog last week confirmed it had instituted Federal Court proceedings against the two businesses, alleging the business engaged in false, misleading or deceptive conduct by publishing scam advertisements.

Sayurbox, an Indonesia-based business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) e-grocery startup, announced its oversubscribed Series C round of $120 million led by Northstar and Alpha JWC Ventures, with participation from new investor International Finance Corporation (IFC). The new funds will be used to accelerate e-Grocery penetration in new and existing cities and extend Sayurbox’s end-to-end supply chain nationwide.

Muni gives Latin American communities buying power through shopping app

Muni has operations in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, and over 15,000 community leaders utilize the service, which has grown 20% month over month since its launch in June 2020. Community leaders centralize the orders by sharing a link to the WhatsApp online store, then neighbors put in their orders of everyday essentials, and the supplier drops off the orders with Muni, which picks and packs them and leaves them with the community leader to take care of the last-mile delivery and collecting the cash payments.

Kenya’s Sokowatch secures $125M Series B, rebrands to Wasoko

Kenyan startup Sokowatch, an e-commerce company leveraging technology to transform the informal retail supply chain, has closed a US$125 million Series B equity round, while also rebranding to Wasoko and launching operations in West Africa. The platform enables retailers to order products at any time via SMS or mobile app and receive delivery through its proprietary logistics network to their store.
