Alima aims to build out LATAM’s perishable foods supply chain

Alima, a Mexico-based supply chain startup, raised $1.5 million in new funding to continue developing data-driven tools for businesses to source the produce they need and have it delivered directly to them. Alima grew revenue 10x since January and continues to grow each month in double digits. It currently works with 600 customers, and expects to nearly triple the number of customers by the beginning of the year.

MEDU Protection is a Mexican startup that develops sustainable medical apparel to reduce environmental impact, reducing up to 25 kg of waste per garment in an industry that generates up to 5 million tons annually. MEDU Protection’s business model has been based on creating gowns, surgical hoods, and coveralls with a resistant fabric that protects against 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. Each product has an integrated chip with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
