In Brief: The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia raised ire after it published mass customers’ private photos and personal data to pressure them to return mistakenly distributed funds that was caused by a faulty ATM incident
The International digital rights group, Access Now and Ethiopia’s Centre for Advancement of Rights and Democracy slammed the bank publicly which resulted in the bank taking down names of customers – though it did claim it had recouped almost all its funds prior to that point.
