FTC Launches Inquiry Into Tech ‘Censorship’

The FTC, under Trump-appointed Chairman Andrew Ferguson, is launching an inquiry into how tech platforms “deny or degrade users’ access to services based on the content of their speech or affiliations, and how this conduct may have violated the law.” “Tech firms should not be bullying their users,” said Ferguson. Right now, its advertisers who seem to be getting bullied back onto X by the newfound powers of Elon Musk.

Adobe Announces General Availability of Real-Time CDP Collaboration

Adobe announced plans for Real-Time CDP Collaboration last spring and this week announced its general availability in the U.S. (although it gave the strong impression that it was generally available last December). Essentially a data clean room, the appeal of Collaboration is that it is integrated with Adobe’s CDP. Interoperability enables the connection of data across select partners such as AWS and The Trade Desk as well as the activation of audiences created in Adobe Experience Platform.

Only 18% Believe Service Providers on Apps Are Properly Vetted: Trua

Only 18% of Americans believe that service providers on popular apps receive proper security vetting, according to a survey by Trua (which is a vendor of verified trust credentials). Sixty percent would pay extra for more thorough background checks. The concern arises with many popular apps that provide access to service providers, from rideshare apps and AirBnB to home service apps like Thumbtack and TaskRabbit.
