Just some random items today. Let’s start with news that CDP AgilOne has launched an integration with display ad targeting vendor Criteo. AgilOne users will be able to send lists to Criteo to send Web display ad campaigns.
Next, news that data access vendor Dremio has raised a $30 million Series B. Dremio lets analytical systems issue SQL queries to SQL and NoSQL source data without moving it into a separate CDP-style database. It’s important to recognize that many solutions overlap to some degree with CDP capabilities and to understand how they differ.
Finally, marketing agency network Dentsu Aegis has found that CMOs rate individual-level targeting ahead of AI, digital technology, and new customer segments as their biggest strategic opportunity. Music to CDP ears: 57% are expanding use of existing (first party) customer data compared with just 37% expanding use of purchased data. Sadder tunes: CMOs number one fear is a data breach (29%) and 60% think GDPR will make it harder to build direct customer relationships. La la la.
