Factual also tracks device locations. It packages the data for analysis, advertising audiences, and location-based messaging. It just raised $42 million, bringing total funding to $104 million. They currently track about 300 million devices per month.
Deloitte has purchased the AI platform business of Magnetic, which runs optimized ad campaigns against a proprietary audience of more than 350 million user profiles. The acquisition is apparently limited to Magnetic’s technology and the product and engineering teams that support it. It’s not clear what happens to everyone else or whether Magnetic itself will continue to exist.
And for the AI news hat trick: predictive modeling vendor Custora announced a $13.75 million Series B funding, bringing its total to $20 million. Custora builds unified customer profiles and uses the data for analytics, predictive models, and segmentation. Its clients are retailers.
The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that could potentially ban TikTok in the U.S. if its Chinese owner, ByteDance, does not sell its holdings within a year. The bill now goes to the President Biden, who has said he will sign it. Court challenges are likely to follow.
