CDP vendor Segment has released its previously-announced Personas feature, which builds unified, real-time customer profiles including computed values and makes them available to external systems via exports and API access. Segment had previously loaded, stored, and shared customer data but hadn’t automatically created unified profiles.
Sticking with small business marketing, eRelevance has added a lead follow-up service. eRelevance runs marketing campaigns for its clients, rather than selling tools to do it for themselves. Their 1,200 clients are concentrated in the cosmetic surgery industry but they have larger ambitions.
Disney has agreed to license more than 200 characters, costumes, and environments (but not voices or talent likenesses) to OpenAI for Sora, its gen AI video platform. This is highly unusual for Disney, which generally sues AI models for copyright infringement; in fact, it sued Google for that a day before announcing the OpenAI deal. Disney will also invest $1 billion in OpenAI, nicely illustrating how very eager they are to join the AI party.
