Regulators from the Netherlands and France have announced they were fining Uber €290 million (~$324 million) for GDPR violation with drivers’ data that was transferred to the U.S. The data, which included locations, taxi licenses, payment details and in some cases even criminal and medical data, was relayed to servers in the United States.
A survey of 1,200 marketing professionals finds them confidently raising investments in social media (66%), digital display/video (65%) and CTV (55%) ad spend. CTV beats generative AI by a nose as the most important consumer trend (56% to 55%). Notably, marketers are more likely to use AI for research and analysis than content generation.
Enzo BioChem, a testing lab company, was found negligent by the attorneys general of New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey, which together fined the company $4.5 million. The finding was that poor data security practice by the company enabled a ransomware attack and a data breach of records of ~2.4 million patients.
Enterprise AI vendor Uniphore has acquired CDP ActionIQ and cloud data engineering system Infoworks. The combination of products will create a Zero Data AI Cloud that simplifies AI deployments by enabling companies to access data for AI projects without moving it from existing systems. Prices were not announced.
