Remember GDPR? Just 27% of EU firms and 12% of U.S. firms met the May 25 compliance deadline but 76% and 68% respectively expect to comply by the end of 2018. When asked why they were complying, 54-59% cited customer expectations compared with 39-41% citing partner demands or fear of legal action.

A survey by retail media company Valassis says yes: when asked what it took earn their loyalty, 76% listed safeguarding personal information compared with just 73% for personal discounts or special offers. Voice search isn’t the technology of the future because it’s already here: 27% of respondents to this Global Web Index survey said they use voice search on mobile each month. Mobile payment usage has grown from 26% in 2016 to 37% in 2018. The study found that different drivers for brand discovery, purchase decisions, and brand advocacy. Much food for thought.
