AppsFlyer Raises $56 Million to Capture Mobile App Events

AppsFlyer

AppsFlyer captures mobile app events and uses them for attribution and marketing analytics. That’s even more interesting than it sounds because what the company really does is distribute data among 2,000 partners including marketing automation, analytics, and retargeting firms as well as media companies. So it’s an integration hub though not a true CDP. The company is growing crazy fast – it went from 40 to 240 people in the past two years – and just raised a $56 million Series C, bringing total funding to $84 million.

Cloverleaf Adds Emotional Artificial Intelligence to Retail Shelves.  This Is Not a Joke.

Is something missing in your life? Something you can’t quite put your finger on? Could it be a deeper emotional relationship with grocery store shelves? If so, your troubles will soon be over: retail technology provider Cloverleaf has launched the “first dynamic shelf solution with built-in emotional artificial intelligence” so those shelves will never ignore your feelings again. In concrete terms, they’re providing LCD strips that attach to store shelves and adjust their displays based on the perceived sentiments of nearby consumers. There must be cameras somewhere since the system classifies facial expressions and infers demographics such as shopper age, gender, and ethnic group (all anonymously). The emotion recognition technology comes from AI company Affectiva. My facial expression right now: totally weirded out.
