California’s DROP tool makes requests easy, though not yet quick

For years, California’s been evolving a process to enable residents to request data not be shared. Now it’s a reality with the Delete Requests and Opt-Out Platform (DROP). With one request and proof of residency, all state data brokers will be notified and by the end of this year will be required to get requests processed and replied to.
