Adobe Faces Proposed Class-Action Lawsuit for Using Pirated Books to Train AI

A proposed class-action lawsuit accuses Adobe of using pirated books to train the SlimLM program. The dataset in question connects to Books3, a collection of 191,000 books that has faced legal troubles in the past. A similar lawsuit last fall resulted in Anthropic agreeing to pay $1.5 billion to authors.
