Salesforce has announced Digital 360, a combination of components from Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud plus new bits including its long-awaited CDP, named Customer 360 Audiences. General availability for Audiences is set for October.
Claiming to be the “first of its kind” in Europe for bringing suit against a tech firm on behalf of children, this alleges YouTube’s methods of targeting children constitutes “major breaches” of UK and EU privacy and data rules. Specifically, YouTube is accused of harvesting kids’ data without parental consent. The suit has been filed on behalf of more than 5 million British children and their parents.
CDP mParticle is being acquired by ecommerce platform Rokt for a price of $300 million. It’s the third acquisition of a leading independent CDP in a little over one month, following Uniphore’s purchase of ActionIQ and Contentstack’s purchase of Lytics. All three buyers offer some type of customer-facing technology; apparently they’ve decided that adding real-time profiles from CDP will give them a competitive edge.
