This was done over objections that it would provide DOGE with sensitive information about the income of millions of people.
Utah’s App Store Accountability Act, which passed by large margins in the state House and Senate, has been sent to the governor to sign. Passage would make it the first bill in the US to require app distributors, including Google and Apple, to verify user ages and then block minors under 18 from downloading apps without parental consent.
