Daily iOS Opt-ins tracking at 15% worldwide, less than half in the U.S.

Flurry Analytics, used in more than 1M mobile apps has begun posting a weekly report on iOS opt-ins since this month’s Apple changeover. The second week’s report shows 15% data sharing opt-in world-wide and 6% U.S.

Half of Companies Looking for New Data Platform: MIT Technology Review Survey

What’s the biggest data-related headache?  This Databricks-sponsored MIT Technology Review survey of chief data officers found that half are looking for a new data management platform, with greater scalability and processing speed as their top goals.  Access and quality were lower priorities: in fact, 66% said their analysts can already access all the data they need.  Adding new types such as real-time streams and unstructured data was their smallest concern.

Disney and Universal Sue Midjourney for Copyright Infringement

There’s no shortage of lawsuits by publishers against genAI platforms for copyright infringement; now major studios are getting with the program. Walt Disney and Comcast’s Universal are accusing Midjourney of using some of their best known characters (think Darth Vader and the Minions) in its AI image generator — a “bottomless pit of plagiarism,” they say. No response yet from Midjourney.
