Dell Technologies has announced a data breach and has sent messages to alert customers. The company said payment information was not accessed, though customer names, addresses, and order details were.
This follows receipt of a threat actor claim last month on the dark web saying access to 49 million records of Dell customers and employees was accessed.
Almost 70% of B2B marketers have improving data quality as their top priority, while 60% acknowledge it as a top challenge. The goal is maintaining the top brand attribute of authenticity, ranked ahead of customer-centricity. Almost half the marketers surveyed by B2B data solutions provider Anteriad believed authenticity could walk hand-in-hand with AI use.
A new framework which is based on the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Cross-Border Privacy Rules will be redesigned to allow non-APEC country participation. Countries currently participating are Japan, the US, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. The UK will be the first to join, and Dubai and Bermuda are expected soon to follow.
The second half of 2024 saw the CDP industry continue its shift towards embedding CDPs in customer-facing systems, according to the CDP Institute’s latest Industry Update report. Nearly all firms new to the report had added a CDP to an existing product, and major acquisitions including ActionIQ, Lytics, and mParticle were all made by customer management vendors. The new report adds coverage of composable CDP vendors, which is still a much smaller sector than conventional CDP systems.
