In Brief: Apple looks to lead AI privacy with its new Private Cloud Computing (PCC) service

Core tenets include only using data to fulfill a request but not retaining it; having privacy components not dependent on outside components; ensuring PCC doesn’t contain privileges to bypass privacy protection; ensuring attackers cannot access individual data; and ensuring verifiable transparency to security researchers.

The International digital rights group, Access Now and Ethiopia’s Centre for Advancement of Rights and Democracy slammed the bank publicly which resulted in the bank taking down names of customers – though it did claim it had recouped almost all its funds prior to that point.

CDP mParticle Sold to Rokt for $300 Million

CDP mParticle is being acquired by ecommerce platform Rokt for a price of $300 million.  It’s the third acquisition of a leading independent CDP in a little over one month, following Uniphore’s purchase of ActionIQ and Contentstack’s purchase of Lytics. All three buyers offer some type of customer-facing technology; apparently they’ve decided that adding real-time profiles from CDP will give them a competitive edge.  (See this blog post for more analysis.)
