NetChoice is back swinging to try to stop two Arkansas social media laws that would limit content and would allow parents of kids who killed themselves to sue over content. And in Georgia, a federal judge responding to a NetChoice challenge blocked enforcement of a new law that would require age verification and says users under age 16 need parental consent to join.
This follows similar decisions by Italy and South Korea.
The web search tool Perplexity looks like it’s taking on Google with its latest release, a web browser named Comet. Comet claims to move “from browsing to thinking,” surfacing information and search results in response to natural language queries. Comet is available immediately to Perplexity Max subscribers; others can join a wait list.
