A proposed bill in the Vermont Senate is intended to ban big tech companies from collecting kids’ data and from causing physical or emotional harms. According to Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale, one of the bill’s co-sponsors, it is sensibly modeled on legislation in the European Union and United Kingdom that has proven successful.
NewsGuard, the platform that ranks news and information sites for reliability, has launched an Election Misinformation Tracking Center that will combine the expertise of its journalist/analyst team with AI-powered media monitoring tools. The tools will enable the tracking of misinformation on 963 websites and 793 social media accounts and video channels. These sources have already been flagged for repeatedly publishing false claims about elections.
Martech keeps taking larger bites out of marketing budgets: 17.3% last year, 19.9% this year, 23.5% next year, and 30.9% five years from now, according to the latest CMO Survey.
