In Brief: US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) teamed up to publicly identify 130 hospitals and telehealth companies, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, New York-Presbyterian, and Mantra Health, whose use of online tracking may violate federal data privacy and security regulations

This is due to use of tech providers, such as Meta/Facebook pixel and Google Analytics which enable online tracking.

It has been used in 70 or more class actions against companies like General Mills, Geico, and Chick-fil-A that were filed just in the past year.
