Oman announced passage of a Data Protection Law that is designed to bring the country’s data privacy regime into closer alignment with global data protection laws. Provisions include the rights to consent, rectification, access, and erasure of personal data. The law will go into effect February 2023 and includes hefty fines for companies and individuals that are not in compliance.
