Belarus has enacted a new personal data protection law which adds liabilities to companies, including a requirement to develop an algorithm for processing data for individuals, clients, or when representing a legal entity. It also applies to relationships with employees.

Study of 4K mid-sized companies reveals cyber-targeting frequency is on par with big enterprises, but without the resources and tech to respond

Attacks on mid-sized companies are up between 50-125% since 2020, with healthcare and transportation among the highest targets, according to the Coro Security Report. Their research, looking at companies that employ up to 2,500 people in retail, manufacturing, professional services, healthcare, transportation and education, found a major increase in attacks particularly in the last quarter of both 2020 and 2021. The survey concludes the urgency will increase.

New Brand Safety Initiatives from IPG Mediabrands, IAS. Apology from DoubleVerify

It’s tough to get brand safety right, but the industry keeps trying.  IPG Mediabrands announced a new set of tools to find and block inappropriate ad placements, while IAS expanded its suitability measurements to include standards from the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM).  Meanwhile, DoubleVerify admitted a mistake made brand safety on X/Twitter look worse than it really was in October 2023 and March 2024.
