Judge rules UK/Apple encryption case will be held openly
The Investigatory Powers Tribunal which is overseeing the case between the UK government and Apple to allow the UK access to Apple’s Advanced Data Protection (ADP) system, agreed with civil rights groups and news organizations that the proceedings can proceed openly. Citing the legal principle of open justice, the case will determine if the UK government can gain backdoor access to data that Apple has refused granting to law enforcement in the past.
