Microsoft’s Recall gets reset

Responding to concern voiced by privacy advocates and customers, Microsoft says its forthcoming Recall feature for Copilot+ PCs will be turned off by default and will require users to use Windows Hello to enable it. Recall will also now have additional layers of protection and encryption.

New York to Limit Teens’ Access to ‘Addictive’ Social Media Feeds

New York parents will be allowed to block minors’ access to social media posts suggested by platform algorithms (“addictive” feeds, some say) under a law passed by the state legislature that Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to sign. Children will only get posts from accounts they follow unless they have verified parental consent. The state Attorney General will set the rules for verifying member ages and parent consent.

CDP Industry is Growing Again: CDP Institute

With CDP vendors increasing their workforces by 3.4% in six months, compared with an average of 0.2% each six months over the prior two years, the sector seems to be growing again, according to our own semi-annual industry update. There is much talk of composable CDPs but they still employ no more than 5% of the sector workforce. What is a clear trend is the acquisition of independent CDPs by vendors interested in adding a CDP to a larger system (usually an activation system).
