OneTrust has announced a $150 million investment led by Generation Investment Management, bringing its total funds to date to more than $1 billion for a $4.5 billion valuation. The funding will be used to accelerate platform innovation in areas including privacy, security, ethics and ESG. Google has begun its roll out of privacy-focused API’s with the goal of phasing out third-party cookies by Q3 2024. Google intends to enable APIs for around 35% of browsers now and will scale to 60% over the next month. Shipping these APIs is a major step toward Google’s goal of phasing out third-party cookies entirely.
Governors in Maine and Connecticut signed legislation to protect women’s rights. In Maine, this includes the right to have an abortion, protection for healthcare providers, and preventing the enactment of ordinances in conflict with Maine’s Reproductive Privacy Act.
