A hacker claims to have compromised the records of 100 million T-Mobile users, which, if true, would have included social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, phone numbers and physical addresses. T-Mobile has confirmed the breach, but is still investigating if personal data was stolen.
Sales enablement and content orchestration platform Seismic has raised a $170 million Series G and used some of the proceeds to purchase sales training platform Lessonly for an undisclosed amount. It’s Seismic’s fifth acquisition in as many years. Total funding is now $440 million and the company says it just passed a $200 million annual run rate.
The release of Firefox 91 includes a new feature allowing users remove all local traces of visiting a website. Building on ‘Total Cookie Protection,’ which Firefox introduced earlier this year to disallow sharing of cookies between websites, the new functionality includes a ‘Forget About This Site’ option to clear all site data plus the history of having visited it.
Procrastinators of the world can throw a party whenever they get around to it: Google has once more pushed back complete third-party cookie deprecation. The new target is “early next year.” Reasons for the delay include concerns expressed by U.K. data regulator Information Commissioner’s Office, an ongoing inquiry by the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority, and widespread discontent in the advertising ecosystem.
