WhatsApp bows to pressure over privacy policy change

The Facebook-owned company stated that in response to government and privacy advocates, it would not restrict functionality for users who decline to share their data.  WhatsApp still maintains, however, that the new policy doesn’t compromise the privacy of user messages.

CTV Ads Used More Widely Than Linear TV: Innovid Study

Hi, it’s Jamie, Senior Intern at the CDP Institute’s Department of the Obvious.  There’s been a dreadful shortage of obvious news recently, so I’ll share some non-obvious information, which I call Jamie’s Believe It Or Not.  First: more companies plan to buy connected TV ads in 2021 (97%) than conventional “linear” ads (84%), according to this Innovid report.  You might also be surprised at how many channels marketers use: social media, display ads, mobile video, desktop video, and linear TV are all used by more than half the survey respondents.

IT teams spend lots of time on repetitive requests from business users, finds this TeamDynamix survey.  You might think the implication is IT should let users do more for themselves.  But the main time-wasters are things like password resets, employee on-boarding, and managing credentials, which can’t really be delegated.  And here’s the kicker: IT professionals automate those tasks by building sloppy, insecure, undocumented scripts, just like the non-professionals.   Fun fact: 53% of teams manage 100 or more applications.
