Albertsons to Broaden its Retail Media Network Advertiser Mix

Through a partnership with ecommerce vendor Rokt, grocery giant Albertsons will accept ads for products not sold by Albertsons itself.  It’s a new but probably inevitable extension of the retail media network concept.  Albertsons will also be able to serve its own brand messages on Rokt’s ecommerce network.

Kinective Media by United Airlines will be the first retail media network in the airline space and will give access to United’s mobile app and in-flight entertainment screens as well as other channels. Messages will be targeted to audience segments, not individuals.

New York to Limit Teens’ Access to ‘Addictive’ Social Media Feeds

New York parents will be allowed to block minors’ access to social media posts suggested by platform algorithms (“addictive” feeds, some say) under a law passed by the state legislature that Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to sign. Children will only get posts from accounts they follow unless they have verified parental consent. The state Attorney General will set the rules for verifying member ages and parent consent.

Treasure Data Introduces CDP Trade-Up Program

Treasure Data will provide its system to free for companies that are stuck in contracts with other CDPs. The trade-up program is available to companies with roughly firms with $1 billion or more revenue, that already have a competitive CDP in place. There will still be some costs for services to make the conversion but Treasure Data says these are fairly small since it has considerable experience with such projects.
