Amplitude Raises $30 Million for Product Analytics

Speaking of Amplitude: they raised $30 million of their own last week, bringing total funding to $56 million. Amplitude is a Web analytics platform that distinguishes itself by focusing on needs of product managers rather than marketers.

Data and Analytics Absorb More than 25% of Most Marketing Budgets: Forbes Study

Into pain, are you? Then you’ll enjoy a Forbes Insights report on top pain points related to data-driven marketing strategy.  Culture and management support head the list, followed by technology and internal skills. Funding is less of a problem. In fact, 27% of respondents said they spend more than half their marketing budget on data, up from just 12% a year ago. Another 39% said they spend 26% to 50%, up from 28% last year. That seems crazily high but numbers don’t lie, right?

Salesforce Buys Airkit.ai for Automated Customer Service

Salesforce is buying Airkit.ai, which builds low-code, AI-powered e-commerce customer service agents.  You might have thought Salesforce could already do that, but presumably Airkit does it better.  It doesn’t hurt that the company founders sold a previous business to Salesforce, the company was partly funded by Salesforce Ventures, and the product is already listed on AppExchange.  Price was not announced.
