Full-funnel marketing platform Appier has announced generative AI integrations across its product suite. In its Advertising Cloud this will allow conversational campaign development and image adaptation. Personalization Cloud enhancements include a customer journey copilot and there’s a data copilot for Data Cloud too.
The Trade Desk CEO Jeff Green this week confirmed reports that The Trade Desk plans to launch a streaming TV OS to be named Ventura. The Trade Desk will not be getting into the CTV hardware business, but will partner with smart TV manufacturers and TV distributors to bring its software to their devices. Green believes that providers like Roku and Amazon Fire have a conflict of interest because they own content.
Omnichannel advertising platform Mediaocean will acquire adtech platform Innovid at an equity value of around $525 million. Together they will provide offerings they describe as “complementary” including ad delivery, creative personalization and measurement and optimization across channels. Innovid will merge with ad management and analytics platform Flashtalking which Mediaocean acquired in 2021.
Disney has agreed to license more than 200 characters, costumes, and environments (but not voices or talent likenesses) to OpenAI for Sora, its gen AI video platform. This is highly unusual for Disney, which generally sues AI models for copyright infringement; in fact, it sued Google for that a day before announcing the OpenAI deal. Disney will also invest $1 billion in OpenAI, nicely illustrating how very eager they are to join the AI party.
