Apple and Google Designing Privacy-Safe Contact Tracker

Apple and Google are cooperating on a contact tracking system to help slow coronavirus’ spread. What’s most interesting is that they’re following good privacy practices by not building a central registry of personal behaviors and by reaching people without learning their identities. So, yes, privacy is possible when developers make it priority.

Neustar and iSpot.tv Share Data for Better Attribution

Attribution is the mother of all measurement challenges. Neustar and iSpot.tv have connected their data to make it a little easier. iSpot tracks ad views across 12 million opted-in smart TVs and lets clients add their own information including retail sales. Neustar is integrating iSpot data with its own consumer information, enabling advertisers to build richer audience profiles and attribution analyses. Problem not quite solved but it’s one more piece of the puzzle.

One-Third of Marketers Will Buy a CDP This Year: Optimove Survey

Just over one-third of marketers plan to either buy a new CDP (21%) or replace an existing one (13%) this year, according to this Optimove survey. Unfortunately, it doesn’t report how many have a CDP already in place, which would put the other values in perspective. It does seem that CDPs are a relatively low priority: they rank sixth on the list of new systems and eighth on the list of systems to replace.
