Aussie Marketing company launches APAC tracking integration for Google Ads

Delacon is claiming an Asia-Pacific first after integrating its call tracking solution into Google Ads to support campaign performance attribution. This integration increases call tracking accuracy and gives greater visibility on calculating cost per lead and cost per acquisition, which in turn improves campaign optimisation and drives increased return on investment.

Google Shared Bidstream Data with Sanctioned Russian Companies

Speaking of BigTech Behaving Badly, we have this ProPublica report that Google was sending sensitive user data with a Russian adtech firm until just last month, when ProPublica asked them about it.  Mobile phone IDs, IP addresses, location information, and activity details from websites including ESPN and Reuters were part of bidstream information shared with RuTarget, which is owned by Russian bank Sberbank.  U.S. Treasury sanctions have banned transactions with Sberbank since February.

Microsoft Lets Publishers Block Bing Chat Separately from Bing Search

Nearly one-third of major news publishers have blocked generative AI tools from reading their content.   But that’s a drastic measure which could also exclude their results from conventional search engines.  Microsoft has just given publishers the option to block access by Bing Chat without also removing their content from search results.  We’ll see if competitors do the same.
