Australia-founded startup Checkmate raises $5M to build a “centralised e-commerce experience”

Checkmate, an Australian designed shopping tool that scours the web for best deals, has secured $5 million seed funding from Fuel Capital. Available as a mobile app or laptop extension, Checkmate finds deals and applies them at checkout, so customers can get last-minute deals. It also can manage orders, store gift cards and track deliveries.

Cloudflare launches data localization suite in Asia

Cloudflare allows users to easily set rules and controls on where domestic data goes and who can access it. This is crucial in the Asian market where nearly 70% of countries have passed or drafted new data protection and privacy legislation.

Treasure Data Introduces CDP Trade-Up Program

Treasure Data will provide its system to free for companies that are stuck in contracts with other CDPs. The trade-up program is available to companies with roughly firms with $1 billion or more revenue, that already have a competitive CDP in place. There will still be some costs for services to make the conversion but Treasure Data says these are fairly small since it has considerable experience with such projects.
