A cybersecurity study by password manager NordPass found Australian businesses ranked 11th among the top 15 countries with the most data leaks. The study looked at 2% of around 10,000 companies world-wide between December 2019 and July 2023. Australian technology companies were found to be the worst offenders, with entertainment and retail companies also ranking high in cybersecurity incidents.
Cost-of-living increases in Australia reduced ad spending by nearly AU$2 billion (~USD $1,284,060,000) and is now causing many Australian businesses to source from overseas suppliers. A new study by Money Transfer Comparison found that 51% of businesses planned to do so in the next 12 months.
Salesforce kicked off its annual Dreamforce conference yesterday with the usual spectacle. On the substantive front, they announced new data integrations to exchange data with Snowflake, Databricks, and Amazon Web Services without loading it into their Data Cloud CDP. The AI engine, the Einstein 1 Platform, also can now access anything available in Data Cloud.
Continuing its early fall shopping spree, Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire data protection and management company Own (it is also acquiring voice agent vendor Tenyx). In addition to analytics capabilities Own will enhance Salesforce’s existing data security tools. It has been a Salesforce AppExchange partner for over 10 years.
