Australia’s Department of Defence becomes latest victim of regional ransomware attacks

ForceNet, a service used by the Australian Department of Defence for auditable communications and personnel information sharing has had a ransomware attack. The attackers have not yet been identified and military information is not believed to have been stolen, but the breach may affect the records of 40,000 defence personel.

Google Again Delays Third-Party Cookie Deprecation

Procrastinators of the world can throw a party whenever they get around to it: Google has once more pushed back complete third-party cookie deprecation.  The new target is “early next year.” Reasons for the delay include concerns expressed by U.K. data regulator Information Commissioner’s Office, an ongoing inquiry by the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority, and widespread discontent in the advertising ecosystem.
