The CDP industry had a good first half, with existing vendors growing a solid 10% and eleven new vendors, according to the CDP Institute’s latest Industry Update. But investment activity was down, with just one big deal ($175 million for Bloomreach) and one acquisition (BlueConic sold a majority stake to Vista Equity Partners). Lots more here, of course.
T-Mobile has also had to commit an additional $150 million to beef up their data security and other related technology.
This set of Moengage reports has lots of yummy data, but what caught my eye is a table showing CDP adoption rates are higher in Europe and India than North America. That seems unlikely but the larger story is that CDP use hovers around 20% in all markets, comparable to marketing automation and not much lower than CRM. There are separate reports for North America, Europe, Germany, India, and the Middle East, with Southeast Asia on the way.
GrowthLoop will use TransUnion identity data to improve U.S. consumer match rates on client files sent to advertising media such as Facebook and Google Ads. The data should also help clients to find matches among records within their files, building more accurate customer profiles. GrowthLoop calls itself a “composable CDP”, meaning it works with data assembled in external data warehouses.
