Citrix to Merge with TIBCO After $16.5 Billion Buyout

Remote access – excuse me, “digital workspace” – tech vendor Citrix was just bought by Vista Equity Partners and friends for $16.5 billion.  That’s only sort of interesting, but Vista announced they plan to combine Citrix with data analytics vendor TIBCO, a bauble they’ve owned since 2014.  And data analytics is something we care about, right?

CausaLens Raises $45 Million for Causal AI

Still CausaLens gets a second look because their $45 million Series A will go to AI using “cause and effect” logic instead of basic correlations and pattern recognition. Google Again Delays Third-Party Cookie Deprecation

Procrastinators of the world can throw a party whenever they get around to it: Google has once more pushed back complete third-party cookie deprecation.  The new target is “early next year.” Reasons for the delay include concerns expressed by U.K. data regulator Information Commissioner’s Office, an ongoing inquiry by the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority, and widespread discontent in the advertising ecosystem.
