Consumers in Singapore prefer standardized personal data requests

The Consumer Data Confidence Research by Visa reports that almost eight out of 10 (77%) of Singaporean consumers want the option to control their data rather than leaving it up to the discretion of companies and government.

IBM inks $725M deal with Commonwealth to provide public servants key technologies

Federal government agencies will be able to easily tap IBM’s artificial intelligence, quantum computing and emissions software under a $725 million five-year technology program signed by the Commonwealth. The agreement locks in IBM as one of eight vendor-sourced agreements that give federal agencies access on preferred terms to key cloud, main frame, desktop and enterprise software, hardware, and support services.

CDP mParticle Sold to Rokt for $300 Million

CDP mParticle is being acquired by ecommerce platform Rokt for a price of $300 million.  It’s the third acquisition of a leading independent CDP in a little over one month, following Uniphore’s purchase of ActionIQ and Contentstack’s purchase of Lytics. All three buyers offer some type of customer-facing technology; apparently they’ve decided that adding real-time profiles from CDP will give them a competitive edge.  (See this blog post for more analysis.)
