Data.world, a collaborative open data community, has raised $26 million in venture funding, putting its total at $71.3 million. Data.world offers data owners an enterprise data catalog with features to simplify finding, governing, and querying information. It also offers low-cost access to thousands of open data sets.

So I’ll sneak back to last week to report that programmatic advertising platform Stirista is buying Nikaza, a location-based measurement platform. Stirista has an identity graph that lets advertisers target customers across channels. Feel better?
Here’s a frightening tidbit: 35% of U.S. consumers told The Harris Poll that they would be happy if they never made an in-store retail purchase again. Seventy percent said they prefer zero human contact during shopping experiences. Presumably preferences will evolve after the pandemic ends but you do have to wonder how deep these scars will be.
The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that could potentially ban TikTok in the U.S. if its Chinese owner, ByteDance, does not sell its holdings within a year. The bill now goes to the President Biden, who has said he will sign it. Court challenges are likely to follow.
