Satellite-first TV provider DirecTV is diving deep into the streaming world with the acquisition of Dish and Sling from their owner EchoStar for a modest $1 (okay, plus the assumption of almost $10 billion in debt). The combination of DirecTV and Dish will create the nation’s largest pay TV service with some 18 million subscribers. Sling TV is heavy on live sports.

Digital experience platform Optimizely has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the data warehouse native analytics platform NetSpring. This will enable Optimizely customers to link experimentation and digital experience initiatives with data that lives in their data warehouses. This can be done without extracting data from warehouses like Big Query, Databricks and Snowflake.
CDP and marketing cloud vendor Zeta Global announced an agreement to purchase LiveIntent, which helps companies do email-based advertising. The deal will let Zeta expand its identity graph, enter the publisher monetization business, and accelerate its mobile and retail media products. Zeta will pay $77.5 million in cash and $172.5 million in common stock, with potential for additional payments based on performance.
