Facebook Buys Giphy for $400 Million

Facebook is purchasing .gif platform Giphy for a reported $400 million. Half of Giphy’s traffic comes from non-Facebook properties, so the deal will expand Facebook’s ability to observe and profit from behavior elsewhere. The deal won’t put a dent in Facebook’s $60 billion cash hoard.

IT Staff Sees Cost and Service Levels , Not Happy Customers, as Biggest Integration Benefits: Cleo Report

CDPs are increasingly used by corporate IT departments, so it’s worth understanding how IT staff thinks. Integration platform vendor Cleo found that IT sees the biggest benefits from improved integration as reduced cost (66%) and meeting service level agreements (57%). Happier customers come in third at 53%. IT finds legacy applications to be the biggest integration challenge, a position marketers are more likely to share.

Bombora has launched Visitor Insights, a consent-based website tag that tracks the topics a device has consumed.   It infers intent, job function, management level, and other information that B2B publishers can use for ad targeting and personalization.  This Bombora report shows intent trends by industry: for example, media and advertising users show 70% more interest in Customer Data Platforms than they did last year.
