Data analytics vendor Actian has released Customer 360 Solution, which it doesn’t call a CDP but still sounds like one.  The new solution loads data from disparate sources into Actian’s high-speed Avalanche database, generates insights, and shares the results with customer-facing systems.  The company says business users can set up the data connections without writing code.

I’m sure there’s a reason that Tel Aviv-based Web analytics start-up Oribi named itself after a small African antelope, although it might simply be an excuse to make hoodies with horns.  Their fashion sense extends to their product positioning, which adds trendy no-code bling to Web analytics.  The company just raised a $15.5 million Series B, bringing total funding to $27.9 million.

CDP mParticle is being acquired by ecommerce platform Rokt for a price of $300 million.  It’s the third acquisition of a leading independent CDP in a little over one month, following Uniphore’s purchase of ActionIQ and Contentstack’s purchase of Lytics. All three buyers offer some type of customer-facing technology; apparently they’ve decided that adding real-time profiles from CDP will give them a competitive edge.  (See this blog post for more analysis.)
