Facebook is shutting down its Live Shopping feature, the company announced in a terse blog post, although it remains an option on Instagram for now. Live shopping news has been mixed recently: YouTube just supported it with a Shopify integration, and a report that TikTok is pulling back is contradicted by later stories that the program is going great.
CDP Omeda also has a new investor: private equity firm Sverica Capital made an undisclosed investment which, I’m told privately, includes majority ownership. Current leadership retains a large share and will still run the company. We’re seeing more private investments as venture funding and public markets become more cautious.
A recent report published by audit and advisory firm KPMG and banking group HSBC has featured 10 potential unicorns in Malaysia that are poised to make a lasting impact on the global business landscape over the next decade. The Emerging Giants in Asia Pacific report has taken an in-depth look at 6,472 technology-focused start-ups in 12 Asia Pacific markets with valuations up to $500 million. These potential unicorns, dubbed “Emerging Giants”, include Boost Holdings, Exabytes, and Jirnexu.
Treasure Data will provide its system to free for companies that are stuck in contracts with other CDPs. The trade-up program is available to companies with roughly firms with $1 billion or more revenue, that already have a competitive CDP in place. There will still be some costs for services to make the conversion but Treasure Data says these are fairly small since it has considerable experience with such projects.
