Facebook Still Shares Climate Disinformation: InfluenceMap Study

Just because we haven’t fussed recently about Facebook, don’t think they’ve changed their ways. Here’s a report InfluenceMap that finds Facebook continues to share false information about client change, despite promises not to. Of 51 climate disinformation campaigns InfluenceMap identified in the first half in 2020, Facebook removed exactly…one.

Global study shows a majority of people have no idea what companies do with their data

Publicis Sapient’s survey of 5,000 people from Great Britain, France, Germany, Australia and the United States revealed that 61% know little or nothing about how companies use their data – and they worry this can be harmful. The survey also found a disparity between those who are more educated, younger and tech savvy, in their degree of mistrust. Results indicated significant uncertainty and dissatisfaction with companies in multiple categories.

Customer Data Platform Industry Adds New Vendors: CDP Institute Report

Software vendors continued to add Customer Data Platform (CDP) capabilities to existing systems in the first half of 2024, according to the CDP Institute’s latest Industry Update report.  Nearly all of the dozen companies appearing in the report for the first time started as marketing or messaging applications and added CDP capabilities after they were built.  These firms accounted for most of the industry growth during the report period.
