Fewer Than 30% of Consumers Believe AI Will Improve CX in Retail: Attest

Only 27.3% of consumers from a 9,500 sample believe AI has the potential to improve their customer experience and only 26% think it will make experience more personalized (other surveys report much more enthusiasm). More than half, however, were interested in using chatbots to get information. A growing number (over 40%) will use ChatGPT or similar solutions to research purchases.

Americans Trust AI Companies More than Social Media Platforms: Axios Harris

While companies focused on AI like Nvidia and OpenAI performed well in polling-based Axios Harris reputation scores, social media platforms, notably those using generative AI, did poorly. Nvidia, the chips company, was new to the list and was number one for overall reputation, number eight for trust. Which begs the question, how many of those polled know Nvidia as well as they know Facebook or X?

Microsoft’s Recall raises alarms, gets ICO inquiry

Recall, Microsoft’s optional “feature” coming to Copilot+ PCs, has been called “chilling,” and “a privacy nightmare,” and the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has reached out to the company over safety concerns. Privacy advocates have said Recall, which can search a user’s past activity including files, photos and browsing history, is problematic because it takes screenshots every few seconds and can then search those images.  The risk is that potentially sensitive information displayed on the screen can be captured and exposed.

In partnership with attention metrics provider Adelaide, The Trade Desk is now offering high attention inventory to advertisers. Attention — often based on reactions of opt-in panels to ads — is now competing with viewability as a valued attribute, and is being used to complement contextual metrics. Attention has been used in the past to test ads once they have been published; now it’s entering the pre-bid space.
