$20 million? Hah! scoff our friends at Funnel, who just raised $47 million for their marketing data collection and transformation system. It works with campaign data, not customer profiles, so it’s no CDP. Total funding is $68 million, if Newstore is keeping score.

We’ll start with this Nielsen study that finds just 28% of marketers make data quality their top priority, ranking it behind audience targeting, ad creative, and reach. In fact, Nielsen says marketers are creatures of habit who do many irrational things. We are shocked.

One-Third of Marketers Will Buy a CDP This Year: Optimove Survey

Just over one-third of marketers plan to either buy a new CDP (21%) or replace an existing one (13%) this year, according to this Optimove survey. Unfortunately, it doesn’t report how many have a CDP already in place, which would put the other values in perspective. It does seem that CDPs are a relatively low priority: they rank sixth on the list of new systems and eighth on the list of systems to replace.
