Adoption has slowed on Web3 technologies like crypto, NFTs and virtual goods and a truly interconnected metaverse seems a long way down the road. But according to a survey of 1,000 U.S. adults by Dentsu, genAI is provoking greater interest in other emerging technologies. More than 60% are “excited” by pioneering tech.
The retail media network space continues to heat up as another giant prepares to make an entrance. Costco is building an ad network that can draw on shopping data from 74.5 million household members. The network remains at the testing stage and Costco is said to be in conversations with various adtech vendors.
From large to small enterprises, data quality management is emerging as an actual practice, with more than half having data quality metrics in place. Less positively, only a quarter of those enterprises measure and report those metrics consistently. Plus, the metrics are being applied overwhelmingly to structure rather than unstructured data.
Google lashed out at the Department of Justice’s threat to break up the company, calling the proposals “radical.” Among other things, Google says the proposals would threaten users’ privacy, stifle innovation and break Android and Chrome. Given the appeals process, it will likely be years before we know whether Google will stay in one piece.
