Global Payments Oceana introduced a platform that provides a single customer experience incorporating e-commerce, in-person EFTPOS and real-time PayTo capabilities. This will enable customers to view best-in-payment channel options.
Australia’s largest telco, Telstra is acquiring tech consultancy Versent along with its subsidiary Stax, which provides self-serve cloud management for AU$267.5 million. The intent is to help Telstra meet growing demand for cloud-led services.
South Korea’s KakaoBank is joining Grab, Singtel and Emtek Group to invest in Indonesia’s Superbank by acquiring a 10% stake in the upcoming digital bank through the issuance of new shares. The move comes ahead of Superbank’s planned launch of its app to the public in 2023. Superbank was previously known as Bank Fama International, which was majority owned by Indonesia-listed media and technology conglomerate Elang Mahkota Teknologi, or Emtek Group.
Google will begin the U.S. rollout of its much-anticipated generative AI search capability this week, with rollout in other countries “coming soon.” Search results include links to information sources but Website owners still worry that detailed answers will result in fewer people clicking past Google to their own websites. From Google’s perspective that’s a feature, not a bug.
