On-site search is an important feature on ecommerce systems. But it’s hard to do well. Google Cloud just made things easier by releasing Retail Search, a managed service that applies Google search technologies to product searches a company’s own website.
Touch ‘n Go (TNG) Group, a Malaysia-based payment firm that is backed by Jack Ma’s Ant Group Co, announced the launch of GOpinjam, an inclusive digital personal loan proposition available through TNG eWallet. This marks TNG eWallet’s first digital lending solutions offering, having previously already launched financial services propositions in investments and insurance.
Hospitality vendor Cendyn, whose system does everything from marketing to reservations to analytics, has launched a new cloud-based platform that includes a CDP and web content management system. It’s a good example of what CDP Institute labels an “operational CDP”, since the scope includes operational as well as data and marketing functions.
CDP mParticle is being acquired by ecommerce platform Rokt for a price of $300 million. It’s the third acquisition of a leading independent CDP in a little over one month, following Uniphore’s purchase of ActionIQ and Contentstack’s purchase of Lytics. All three buyers offer some type of customer-facing technology; apparently they’ve decided that adding real-time profiles from CDP will give them a competitive edge.
